About Highland Arts

Highland Arts Unlimited, Inc. began in the fall of 1972 when a group of local citizens met to form a nucleus to raise enough money to bring the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra to Keyser for a performance. One of the original members of that group, Dr. Charles D. Whitehill, continues as an active member of the board of directors.

We are proud of the excellent quality of this year’s programs, which are funded in part by membership contributions, grants from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts of the West Virginia Division of Culture and History, the National Endowment for the Arts, and financial assistance from Potomac State College, the Mineral County Board of Education, and corporate sponsors.

HAU memberships also support free arts programs in Mineral County schools.
